I said Brr… it’s cold in here!

As the seasons change, here at Urban Surf we are gearing up for the colder months with all the right gear for you! Check out these suggestions for cold water essentials that are sure to give you chills!

At Urban surf we have a variety of wetsuits, the most common one we recommend for colder weather and a good all-year suit is the trusted and true 5/4mm suit, for those of you who run warmer a 4/3mm may be a better fit for you.

Each wetsuit comes with its own bells and whistles and for those missing an attached hood, at Urban surf we sell individual hoods that vary in size and thickness. Ranging in size from XS to XL and thickness from 1.5mm to 3mm, they are sure to match what you’re looking for.

We can’t forget about the gloves and booties that make cold water sets complete. We have a wide variety of brands from O’Neill, Quicksilver, Rip Curl, Xcel and the game-changing Solite. The only trick for sizing is that they come in unisex sizing which means if you’re a woman the sizes may be larger than expected and the opposite for typical men’s sizes. We also carry different thickness’s, the most common one for cold weather being the 5mm. Another variation we carry is round toe and split toe booties, which comes down to personal preference. Here at Urban Surf, we have the perfect little bench to try on all the booties that your heart desires. When it comes to gloves, we have ones ranging from basic neoprene gloves that keep you warm when paddling out on your surfboard or ones with the perfect grip for holding a SUP paddle.

If you’re not in need of anything crazy and just want something that keeps you warmer when you’re on the water rather than in the water, we have neoprene clothing that works perfectly for mixing and matching. From long sleeve tops and jackets, to spring suits and pants we’ve got you covered. These pieces allow for warmth with ease and are perfect for kayaking and stand-up paddling in these colder months.

For quick changes after a gnarly session we’ve got stylish changing ponchos as well as some that have the softest sherpa lining and water-proof outer shell.
